New security tools from GFI: WebMonitor 2013 and EndPointSecurity 2013
The company GFI Software has announced the release of two new products to protect businesses against viruses, information leaks and potentially dangerous (or simply unnecessary for) web-pages.
In particular, the package of GFI WebMonitor 2013 helps small and medium organizations to disseminate its policy on access to the Internet on laptops employees. GFI EndPointSecurity 2013 package uses a comprehensive risk assessment and survey data to determine the machine on which sensitive data (credit card numbers, social security cards, health records, and personnel records and financial information) are transferred to external storage devices like smartphones, USB-devices and then leave the organization.
The new version of WebMonitor 2013, according to the company GFI, is an indispensable element of protection in the modern office, as more and more employees are working remotely, getting access to corporate resources over the Internet. Unfortunately, this user-friendly approach brings with it many risks and headaches for IT-managers. One of the main advantages of WebMonitor 2013 is the ability to change the filtering policies, web-pages, depending on the location of vehicles. For example, access to streaming media resources can allow for machines that leave the corporate network, but leave with a ban on adult sites and online games. The second major advantage of the package GFI WebMonitor – speed access to the web-site remains virtually unchanged, without any noticeable delay due to additional filtering.
Package GFI EndPointSecurity 2013 takes another important function: if a file goes through the client machine, mechanism analysis verifies it for information to be protected, especially if the leak of this information may violate the legal requirements for the protection of personal data. Risk-assessment takes into account many factors, including the activity of the particular client machine, the level of risk on specific data and the type of device that is being accessed. Further calculated the risk for each client machine and the network as a whole. If the document is found the information corresponding to the specified pattern file is locked, and the administrator receives notice.
Another new GFI EndPointSecurity 2013 was full support for Windows 8 and Windows Server 2012, so that IT-administrators to centrally manage all client machines park from improved single console. This panel contains the actual information (in a visual form) and suggests actions to neutralize risks. In the console, you can monitor all access operations, and provide information about them tiny agent modules that are automatically installed on all Windows-machine. Since IT-department can provide full protection of infrastructure, even when the user brings their own laptop or tablet to work and connect to corporate networks. Access rights can be set for individual users and machines for working groups or even entire domains. Set permissions and control can be switched on a temporary and permanent basis, and to change them on the fly to isolate compromised and front cars. For machines in situations of high risk can include quarantine, restrictions or a complete denial of access.
