Number of security incidents in the UK has increased by 1000% over five years
Imation Mobile Security company published government statistics for successful hacker attacks.
According to the BBC with reference to the anti-virus company Imation Mobile Security, the organization managed to get access to government statistics on the number of successful hacking attacks recorded in the UK.
Thus, according to the authorities of the country, security incidents in the last five years began to occur 10 times more often. For example, the increase in the number of incidents in local government was 1609%.
Also, hackers have more break-governmental organizations (1380%), private sector companies (1159%), hospitals (935%), and the central government (132%). In total, rose by 1014%.
This information became available thanks to a company Imation Mobile Security Commissioner’s office on Information (Information Commissioner’s Office, ICO), drawn up in accordance with the law of Freedom of Information Act, which stipulates the right to free access to information.
In the ICO, in turn, argue that this statistic should be considered, given that at the moment reports are prepared more carefully. This is due to the fact that in 2010 the government made it mandatory for companies to store data on security incidents, and imposed a fine for the loss of confidential data due to negligence.
