Adobe improves security in Acrobat and Reader

Adobe LogoAdobe announced this week announced new security features for the products Reader and Acrobat XI.

The company said that the updates of these products include improved “sandbox”, and whether the enhanced ASLR and cryptography based on elliptic curve algorithm. Products also have new opportunities to view and create PDF-files.

As described in the Adobe, Reader XI application has a new mode Protected Mode, which extends normal “sandbox” at the expense of opportunities for limited read documents in PDF. Innovation should help protect against different types of attacks associated with the theft of data. Earlier in Adobe Reader was announced only function “write protect”. Reader XI application received and parental control PDF, which also creates an additional layer of protection system against attacks.

As for improving the system ASLR or Address Space Layout Randomization, then they work for Reader, Acrobat and for the operating system Windows 7 and 8, and is now associated with all DLL-libraries package, including those that are new to ASLR.
