Android-application compromised the personal data of 10 million Japanese users’

Hackers attackTokyo police detained a group of cyber criminals who have deployed the largest-ever campaign for stealing personal data of users of digital devices.

As  the Japanese media reported, Tokyo police arrested five people on suspicion of distributing malicious applications for devices based on Android, with which attackers compromised the personal data of more than 10 million people.

According to police, the criminals replaced the popular applications for mobile on malware, with the help of which have access to confidential information of users.

Beginning in February of this year, hackers posted online stores for more than 50 of its developments, disguised as popular applications.

After installing mobile malware transfer all data from the smartphone’s address book to a malicious server. According to the results of the investigation, a malicious application abducting contact records user installed more than 90 thousand Japanese.

Note that the detection of the diversion data is the largest in the history of Japan.
