USB-AV – effective protection against the threats posed by portable USB-carriers

USB-AV 2012The developers of the USB-AV Lab presented to the public a new product of the same name for the operating system Windows.

Offers a free anti-virus, as you can tell from its name, will ensure the effective protection of users’ systems from various Internet threats posed by removable USB-drives.

Experienced users know that the connection to the USB-port of the PC portable media unchecked can lead to very unpleasant consequences, and even anti-virus protection does not always guarantee complete invulnerability PC. Some malicious applications do not require access to the user device and infect the system immediately after the operation mechanism startup. You may want to install USB-AV as an additional defense mechanism, especially as developers guarantee conflict-free operation of the new product with the most advanced antivirus software.

After installing the program in the lower right corner of the screen will pop up informing you that your computer is protected. When connected to a computer USB-drives, or portable disk, you will not have to run every time the application manually. When it detects a new USB-device USB-AV thoroughly scans the content for known viruses and malicious programs. All dangerous objects are automatically sent to the quarantine, and the user is offered a detailed pop-up notification. Information about connected devices, results of tests and detected threats recorded in a separate log and are available for further study and in-depth analysis.

Right-click on the icon USB-AV in the system tray, you can bring up a context menu for additional scanning (Scan For Viruses), application settings, and view the contents of the logs or quarantine. In the menu ‘Settings’, you can select an alternate scan mode, change the current level of protection, and more. Another useful feature is the ability to block the utility of all the USB-port of your computer. If you select this option you will not be able to connect to the system for new devices.
