Researcher in the field of information security Ginvael Koldvind discovered a vulnerability in the operating system Windows 7. The expert found that the vulnerability can proekspluatirovat by using USB-drive. The flaw allows local users to gain escalated privileges on a system with an automatically mounted USB-drive.

To exploit the vulnerability an attacker must have physical access to the target computer and have the credentials of a local unprivileged user.

Researchers have already sent a notice of vulnerability MSRC, where it fell to the team of developers Windows, involved the elimination of loopholes. (more…)
